Poshmark's 20% is the highest headline rate of the major resale apps, but shipping is excluded from the fee base — which narrows the gap against platforms that charge on shipping too. See what each one actually pays for your item.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Poshmark take per sale?
Poshmark takes a flat $2.95 commission on any sale under $15, and 20% of the sale price on sales of $15 or more. On a $40 sale you pay $8.00 and keep $32.00. On a $10 sale you pay $2.95 and keep $7.05 — an effective rate of 29.5%.
Why does pricing at $14.99 pay me less than pricing at $15?
Because $14.99 falls under the threshold, so the flat $2.95 applies and you keep $12.04. At exactly $15 the 20% rate applies instead — a $3.00 fee — and you keep $12.00. They are nearly identical, but anything below about $14.75 leaves you worse off than simply listing at $15. Since a $15 listing also asks a higher price, pricing just under the threshold rarely makes sense.
What is Poshmark's effective fee rate on cheap items?
Very high. The flat $2.95 is 59% of a $5 sale, 29.5% of a $10 sale, and 19.7% of a $14.99 sale. This is why low-value items are generally a poor fit for Poshmark unless you bundle them — the flat fee does not scale down with the price.
Does Poshmark charge for shipping?
Not to you. Poshmark buyers pay a flat shipping rate at checkout for a prepaid label, so shipping does not come out of your payout and is not included in the commission base. This differs from Mercari and eBay, where buyer-paid shipping is part of what gets charged a fee.
Are there listing fees on Poshmark?
No. Listing is free and unlimited. You only pay commission when an item sells.
Is Poshmark or Mercari better for reselling clothes?
On fee alone Mercari is cheaper for most price points — a flat 10% versus Poshmark's 20% above $15. Poshmark's advantage is its social/closet-sharing model, which drives discovery for clothing and accessories in a way Mercari does not. Many resellers list on both. The platform comparison tool shows the payout difference at your price point.
Does bundling change the fee?
Bundles are treated as a single sale, so the fee is based on the bundle total rather than each item. Bundling several cheap items past the $15 threshold moves you from the flat $2.95 to the 20% rate, which is usually better value per item than selling each one separately under the flat fee.
