Check your processing rate. Depop does not publish its payment processing rate publicly, so the 3.3000000000000003% + $0.45 below is a widely-reported estimate, not a confirmed rate. Your payout receipt shows the real figure — edit the fields below to match it and the numbers become exact for your account.

Depop fee formula (US, 2026)

Selling fee = $0 (removed for US sellers on July 15, 2024)
Processing fee = (Item price + Shipping charged) × rate + fixed fee
Boost fee = Item price × 12%, only if the listing was boosted
Your payout = Item price + Shipping charged − Processing fee − Boost fee

Assumptions:

  • US sellers. The selling-fee removal is confirmed by Depop's own newsroom announcement
  • Processing rate is an unverified third-party estimate — edit it to match your payout receipt
  • Buyer marketplace fee (up to 5% + $1) is paid by the buyer and excluded from seller math

Compare with other resale platforms

Depop is usually the cheapest of the major resale apps on fees. Whether that makes it the right place to list depends on your category and price point — see the payout side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Depop still charge a 10% selling fee?
Not for US sellers. Depop removed the 10% selling fee on July 15, 2024. UK sellers also pay no selling fee. What remains is a payment processing fee on the transaction, plus an optional Boosted Listings commission if you choose to promote an item.
So is Depop actually free to sell on?
Close, but not entirely. There is no selling commission, but payment processing is still deducted from every sale. On a typical $40 item that is a few percent plus a small fixed amount — far less than the 10–20% charged by Mercari, Poshmark, or eBay.
What is Depop's payment processing rate?
Depop does not publish this figure on any public page — its own seller API documentation only states that a transaction fee applies. Third-party trackers widely report 3.3% + $0.45 for US sellers, which is what this calculator uses as a starting estimate. Your payout receipt shows the exact figure charged to your account, and you can edit the rate fields above to match it.
What is the Depop buyer marketplace fee?
Since July 18, 2024 Depop charges buyers in the US and UK a marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item price plus up to $1 at checkout. It is paid by the buyer and never deducted from your payout, but it does raise the total your buyer sees — worth factoring in when comparing your price against other platforms.
How much do Boosted Listings cost?
Boosted Listings take a 12% commission, charged only when a boosted item actually sells. Since Depop takes no base selling fee, boosting an item puts your total cost roughly in line with what Mercari charges as standard — so it is worth boosting only if it genuinely increases your sell-through rate.
Is Depop cheaper than Mercari or Poshmark?
Yes, on fees alone, and usually by a wide margin. With no selling fee, a Depop sale typically costs a few percent versus Mercari's flat 10% or Poshmark's 20% above $15. The trade-off is audience: Depop skews heavily toward Gen-Z fashion and vintage, so it is not the right venue for every category.
Does Depop charge listing fees?
No. Listing is free, and there is no fee to keep items listed.
