What is eBay's Final Value Fee in 2026?
For most categories on eBay US, the Final Value Fee is 13.6% of the total sale amount (item price + shipping charged) up to $7,500, then 2.35% on any amount above $7,500. The rate varies by category — books/DVDs are 15.3%, guitars & basses are 6.7%, jewelry & watches are 15%.
Does eBay charge fees on shipping?
Yes. eBay's Final Value Fee applies to the total amount you receive, which includes both the item price and the shipping you charge the buyer. This is why charging more for shipping does not increase your profit proportionally.
Does eBay charge a separate payment processing fee?
No. eBay processes payments directly and payment processing is included in the Final Value Fee — there is no separate PayPal or processor percentage. The only fixed charge is the per-order fee: $0.30 for orders of $10 or less, $0.40 for orders over $10.
How do I avoid eBay's transaction fee?
