Why is the Q4 rate so much higher than standard?
Amazon has historically charged a significantly higher storage rate during October–December (Q4 peak season) to account for the surge in holiday inventory competing for warehouse space. This calculator models that gap, but exact multiples change year to year — verify current Q4 rates in Seller Central before planning holiday inventory levels.
How do I find my item's cubic feet?
Measure the outer dimensions of the box or poly bag your item ships in (not the product itself) in inches, then multiply length × width × height and divide by 1,728 (cubic inches per cubic foot). This calculator does that math for you from the three dimension fields.
Does this include long-term storage fees?
No — this estimates only the standard monthly storage fee. Amazon also charges separate long-term storage fees on inventory that has sat in a fulfillment center for 271+ days, which are not modeled here and are also not published outside Seller Central.
Does oversize inventory use a different rate?
Yes, in Amazon's real fee structure — oversize (non-standard-size) inventory has its own storage rate, typically different from standard-size. This calculator uses the standard-size estimate for both periods; if your product is oversize, treat the result as a rough floor rather than an exact figure.
