Amazon does not publish FBA fulfillment fees, inbound placement fees, or monthly storage rates on any page reachable without a seller login. The figures on this page are simplified estimates built from commonly-reported public data, not confirmed Amazon numbers. Always check Seller Central's Revenue Calculator and Storage Fees dashboard for your exact current rate before pricing a real SKU.
1. FBA fulfillment fee
Charged per unit for Amazon to pick, pack, and ship an order once it sells. The fee scales with size and weight tier — bigger and heavier items cost more to fulfill. Here's the simplified estimate used across Marginory's Amazon calculators:
| Size tier | Estimated fee |
|---|---|
| Small standard (≤1 lb) | ~$3.50 flat |
| Large standard (1–3 lb) | ~$5.50 flat |
| Large standard (3–20 lb) | ~$6.50 + $0.40/lb beyond 3 lb |
| Large bulky / oversize (20+ lb) | ~$13.00 + $0.40/lb beyond 3 lb |
Estimate only — see the callout above. Verify your exact tier in Seller Central.
2. Inbound placement service fee
A newer per-unit fee for sending a shipment to a single fulfillment center instead of letting Amazon distribute it across several. Choosing the distributed placement option during shipment creation can reduce or eliminate it, at the cost of splitting your shipment into more, smaller boxes. Amazon does not publish an exact public rate for this fee.
3. Monthly storage fee
Billed per cubic foot of space your inventory occupies in an Amazon fulfillment center, charged monthly based on your average daily volume that month. Two seasonal rates apply:
| Period | Estimated rate |
|---|---|
| Standard (Jan–Sep) | ~$0.78/cu ft/month |
| Q4 peak (Oct–Dec) | ~$2.40/cu ft/month |
Try your own dimensions in the Storage Fee Calculator.
4. Long-term storage fee (not modeled here)
Amazon adds a separate, additional fee on units that have sat in a fulfillment center for 271 days or more, on top of the regular monthly storage fee. This is a strong incentive to keep inventory turning over rather than treating FBA as long-term warehousing.
