Most categories use a single flat rate; a few (Jewelry, Watches, Clothing, Appliances, and others) change rate above a price threshold, which this calculator resolves automatically once you pick your category.
Why does the fee stay at $0.30 on very cheap items?
Amazon enforces a $0.30 minimum referral fee per item across most categories. On a $1 item at a 15% rate, 15% would only be $0.15 — Amazon charges the $0.30 minimum instead, since it can't collect less than that per unit.
Does the Media closing fee apply to my category?
Only to the Media category (Books, DVD, Music, Software, Video Games) — it's an extra $1.80 charged per unit on top of the 15% referral fee. No other category carries this additional flat fee.
Are these rates the same for FBA and FBM sellers?
Yes — the referral fee is charged by category and price regardless of who fulfills the order. FBA sellers pay this plus a separate FBA fulfillment fee and storage fee; FBM sellers pay only the referral fee plus their own shipping cost.
