Is Printify Premium worth it for comparing against Printful?
Only at enough volume to clear the monthly fee. Premium applies a 20% discount to Printify's base cost, which can make it cheaper than Printful on products where the standard Printify price was close or slightly higher — but the $29/month cost needs to be covered by that per-order savings before it's a net win.
Does this comparison include Etsy fees?
Only if you select "Etsy" as the selling platform in the tool — it then adds the 6.5% transaction fee, 3%+$0.25 payment processing, and $0.20 listing fee to both sides equally. Selecting "Generic" shows raw fulfillment cost only, useful if you sell through Shopify or another platform with a different fee structure.
Why does the cheaper base cost not always mean higher profit?
Because shipping cost is separate from base cost and doesn't always move in the same direction — a provider with a lower base cost can still have higher shipping, narrowing or reversing the total cost advantage. Always compare total fulfillment cost (base + shipping), not base cost alone.
